Maxime Barthassat
Maxime Barthassat is an associate at MANGEAT. His main practice areas are Litigation and Dispute Resolution in criminal, commercial and civil matters. He also advises clients on Construction and Real Estate law.
He graduated from the University of Fribourg in 2023, obtaining a bilingual Bachelor of Laws (French – German) and a Master of Laws. He subsequently completed a Certificate of Advanced Studies in Legal Professions and was admitted to the Geneva Bar in 2025.
Maxime began his legal training with a clerkship at the Geneva Court of Justice, gaining first-hand experience of judicial proceedings. He then completed his attorney traineeship within MANGEAT.
During his studies, Maxime represented the University of Fribourg in the René Cassin European Human Rights Competition, where his team ranked tenth out of forty and he was awarded the prize for Best Oral Defense. In 2024, he further distinguished himself by winning the Michel Nançoz Oratory Competition of the Geneva Bar.
